Sharon Johns is a woman, an art teacher, who has
dedicated her life to helping others. She always thought she was
“normal,” and was surprised when others thought she
was extraordinary. In fact, she thinks that is her gift to the world—to
show us we are all extraordinary and the “ordinary”
world we live in is really magical and extraordinary and full of
love. She helps us see in a new way with open eyes that opens our
hearts. She shows us how she developed and refined these talents
simply with her childlike curiosity and innocence and faith. She
shows us how we, like she did, can also open up to the joy and excitement
and peace that comes with a hunger for knowledge and truth, with
prayer and requests for guidance and being open to new experiences.
6-year-old psychic turns it off
When Sharon Vaughn was about six years old, she thought
she was “normal,” but others were amazed with what she
knew and said. Her own mother would ask her questions about what
would happen in the future. She got tired of having so much knowledge
and so many answers and didn’t want to answer all the questions.
She prayed, “Let me just be a child a little longer”
and her gifts of seeing and knowing receded into the background
and lay dormant for awhile.
12-year-old brings her gift back
When she was about twelve years old, she figures she
was ready for more, because of what happened that particular day
when she and her sister were home alone and she saw what her sister
didn’t. A man dressed in burlap-like sack cloth just strode
purposefully through the wall and into her living room, kicking
up dust from his “Jesus” sandals, the blood vessels
standing out in his calves. She did not react at all, as if this
were a perfectly normal occurrence, and simply thought, Boy, is
he in a hurry! Wonder where he’s going? as he walked through
the window and disappeared. Later in life when she thought back
to this event, she intuitively knew he wasn’t a “ghost”
but more likely might have been from a parallel universe or from
a past life.
The young girl wisely realized as she went along that
with such a gift of seeing and knowing comes great responsibility.
16-year-old’s angel encounter
When Sharon was sixteen years old, she was doing a
“normal” teenage thing.
“My girlfriend and I were joy riding much too
fast. We were racing three boys. My friend was driving our car,
which was swerving and weaving. The boys rounded a curve too fast
and wrecked, rolling end over end! Our car was also out of control!
I knew we were going to crash! Suddenly out of the sky descended
a very large angel—at least eighteen-feet tall. She was wearing
a flowing gown and she had large beautiful wings. She was a soft
silver, gray-greenish color, which reminded me of the lichen or
deer moss in the forest. She smiled and took a fender in each hand
and gently moved our car to the side of the road. In spite of the
rolls the boys’ car took, not one was seriously hurt, so they
must have had their angel too, because everyone who saw the totaled
car figured everyone inside must be dead. All they had were scratches
and bruises! I know what I saw and there has never been doubt about
that day. One of the boys in the other car became my husband. We
have been married now for over 40 years. Years later I learned that
silver angels are very high angels.”
Connected to nature
“Ever since I was a little girl, I always felt
I was part of the trees and part of the earth and its animals. I
thought it was normal to feel one with the growth, to feel there
is no end to anything, to know the seed would grow and bloom and
fade away and new ones would grow, that life was neverending. I
think we all know that, but some of us have forgotten. My friends
say, “You could plant anything anywhere and it would grow!”
That’s because I love it so. When I lived in Florida, there
was absolutely no grass or anything growing in the whole neighborhood.
I simply asked the green to come, prayed and gave thanks, and my
lawn grew lush and green, and plants sprouted and grew. Mine was
the only jungle on the block. People were amazed! I never planted
any seeds. They just came because they knew I loved and expected
them. Birds may have dropped the seeds.
I was totally delighted by a recent experience. I
had a zinnia with its big hot pink flower head facing toward the
woods, when all the other flowers were facing toward the sun.. I
said, ‘If you’re gonna get sun, you need to turn around.’
By the next day, it had turned its face around to soak up the sun!
That was even hard for me to believe, so I said “If you hear
me talking to you, turn back around and look at me.’ By the
next day it had! It’s face was turned toward me in the opposite
direction of all the others. I thanked my flower. I love ‘em.
One time in one of my houses, the ants were making
themselves at home upstairs. I warned them, ‘You can’t
be here. This is my house and you have all of the outdoors. I’m
asking you to leave and you’ve got two days, or you’ll
be dead. They left.”
Sharon feels that we all are really this connected
to nature and to each other deep inside and just need to nurture
that part of ourselves and bring it out again and she is here to
remind us of how to do that.
