Large Blogging in Medium

I am getting so many inquiries about the local medium, I thought I should tell you more about the case and why we decided to do it.

Sharon Johns is not an unknown to us -- two years ago, we followed a case where she got a Navy man convicted of murder out of jail because not only did she tell the cops he didn't do it, she helped lead them to the real killer.

In the case of brain-injured Jeff Bailey of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, you all ready know he was hurt in a suicide bomber attack in Afghanistan. Canadian doctors said he could die from the injury and/or would be a vegetable if he lived. The Bailey family was faced with a decision -- His cousin talked the mother into calling Sharon Johns to see if she could get a reading from Bailey’s spirit.

Johns told me more than I told you on the air. She said Bailey’s spirit had roamed the hospital, had found his friend Sal Salikin, and knew that he would fully recover.

I told you Johns said Bailey would come out of his coma in seven to nine days, and would be able to speak in full sentences. Doctors didn't believe that. I told you he would want a soda when he came out of the coma. His mother didn't believe that since he never drank them. He was not into consuming anything that was unhealthy. I told you about the spirit spotting the red gerber daisies meant for Bailey but not delivered. his mother didn't believe that until she found them at the nurses’ station.

What I had to leave out because of time was a medal that Jeff had won. He was going into the Canadian version of Ranger training or Navy Seal-type stuff and had won a diving medal. It wasn't with him and he wanted it. Sharon Johns didn't know about the medal or the daisies. She was thousands of miles from that hospital and nobody told her about them. How did she know?

I admit to being a skeptic about mediums. How could she contact someone in a coma from so far away? Sharon says in the spirit world, time and distance are not relative. She told me about seeing a vision in which Jeff was standing in his hospital room beside his mother -- or at least his spirit was.

Before contacting guides, or spirits as she calls them, she says this prayer asking to be taken to the highest of the high and seeing the brightest light and things like that. She said the prayer for me. I didn't share it with you because of time, but let me just tell you Jeff Bailey is alive today because she told his cousin and mother to wait, don't pull the plug, he has a reasonable chance at a fairly normal life.

I am told doctors said that would not be possible. You can remain a skeptic -- me too -- but we all have to admit, without a call from his cousin to a medium in Georgia, the Bailey family might have pulled the plug on their son as some were advising them to do.

As news people, we are schooled to be skeptical. I always have been, always will be. I just have to accept some things I report on simply don't fit in a neat little package of logic, and I can live with that.
